Fellow of Electromagnetics Academy The deadline for nomination is 2 months before a PIERS Symposium. Election is announced at the PIERS Symposium. Fellow Committee Chair: Prof. KM Luk, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Fellow Committee members: Prof. Kun-Shan Chen, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing Prof. Iam-Choon Khoo, Penn State University, University Park, PA
Procedure of Election to Fellow of the Electromagnetics Academy Two Categories of consideration for election to Fellow of EM Academy. The Selection criteria of accomplishments are comparable to Fellow of IEEE, OSA, APS, SPIE, AGU, etc.
1) By invitation of the Fellow Committee
a. CV of candidate b. Website link of candidate c. A description( limited to 1 page) of outstanding contributions to Electromagnetics significantly above the norm including a statement of “ for contributions to …….” d. A statement (limited to 0.5 page) of participation in PIERS Symposia and PIER Journals e. Upon invitation by the Fellow Committee , the candidate should send the package to the PIERS office(e-mail address below) with attention to the Fellow Committee.
2) By Nomination
a. CV of candidate b. Website link of candidate c. A description( limited to 1 page) of outstanding contributions to Electromagnetics significantly above the norm including a statement of “ for contributions to …….” d. A statement (limited to 0.5 page) of participation in PIERS Symposia and Journals e. Nominator letter and 3 references. The nominator and the three references need to be Fellows of the EM Academy The Nominator should send the nomination letter, CV and website link of the candidate to the PIERS office(e-mail address below). The three references also send the reference letters to the PIERS office(e-mail address below). Self-nomination by the candidate is not allowed.
The Fellow Evaluation Committee will make evaluations and make recommendations to the Board of Directors. There is an obligation that need to be fulfilled for the Elevation. The obligation is an “Electromagnetics Academy Fellow Elevation Journal Article” This is a full-length article of no less than 10 PIER pages for one of the PIER journals. The article can be a review article (preferred) or on a topic of current research. The Fellow candidate can choose to have co-authors. The due date of the journal article is 4 months after the PIERS Symposium.
