The Awards and Fellows Committee upholds the mission of the Electromagnetics Academy (EMA) by recognizing members for their significant contributions to the advancement of photonics and electromagnetics. The Committee oversees and administers EMA awards, and actively identifies qualified candidates for each honor. These awards are typically presented at the Photonics and Electromagnetics Research Symposium (PIERS). The Committee is also responsible for identifying candidates for elevation to Senior Member, and for nominating distinguished individuals for recognition as EMA Associate Fellows and EMA Fellows. It reports its recommendations to the EMA Board of Directors, which holds the authority to confer awards and approve membership elevations. The Committee recognizes excellence across all career stages — student awards for excellent presentations, young scientist awards for early-career achievements, and Fellow distinctions for lifetime contributions to photonics and electromagnetics.
